One dead in Indianapolis east side industrial accident

INDIANAPOLIS -

Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating an industrial accident at 6737 East 30th Street.

Police say one person died in the incident, reported at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at World Media Group.

According to police, the victim, Hugo Ramirez-Arreola, 41, Indianapolis, was inside the trash compactor when it was turned on.

OSHA investigators were requested at the scene.

The company issued the following statement:

We at World Media Group, Inc. would like to express our condolences to the family that experienced the loss of their loved one today in a tragic accident. No World Media Group employees were injured or involved. A sub-contractor of a leasing company was fatally injured during the performance of repair to the leasing company's equipment. We are respecting the wishes of the family and the police department and will not release any further information regarding the accident.
