DILLSBORO -

A Dillsboro man faces charges after posting a "moonshine still" for sale on Craigslist.

Excise officers arrested Curtis A. McNutt, Jr., 30, of Dillsboro. He faces a preliminary charge of possession of a still or distilling apparatus for the manufacture of liquor. That's a misdemeanor.

Police got an anonymous tip about the Craigslist ad, which offered the still for $150. The Feb. 2 Craigslist post listed a "moonshine still" for sale, along with a five-gallon bucket, 20 liter pot, copper wiring, air locks and a tester.

It's against the law in Indiana for someone to own, have in his possession or under their control, a still or distilling apparatus for the manufacture of liquor.

Anyone with information on the unlawful manufacturing of liquor or unlawful possession of a still or distilling apparatus may contact the local Excise Police district office here.

Indiana State Excise Police are the enforcement division of the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission. They enforce Indiana's Alcoholic Beverage Code.
