MONTICELLO -

A 20-year-old northern Indiana man accused of fatally stabbing his mother and his six-year-old half-sister in their home has been charged with two counts of murder.

David Scott Rodenbarger was formally charged Tuesday. See the probable cause affidavit here.

The probable cause affidavit says 41-year-old Michelle Haskins died from a stab wound to her neck. Six-year-old Jillian Haskins died from multiple stab wounds and swelling to her brain caused by blunt force trauma.

The affidavit does not specify a motive.

The mother and daughter were found in their Monticello home early Saturday after the mother called 911. The affidavit says a two-pronged meat fork and knife covered with what appeared to be blood were found near the victims.

Police said Michelle Haskins called 911 before dying. Jillian Haskins was taken to Indiana University Health White Memorial Hospital where she died from her injuries.

A White County judge appointed a public defender to represent Rodenbarger.
