Rotnei Clarke scored 24 points in his return from a severely sprained neck and Khyle Marshall added 19 points, leading No. 9 Butler to an 83-71 victory over Temple on Saturday.
It was Clarke's first game in two weeks and he looked as good as ever. The senior knocked down three 3-pointers and 13 of 14 free throws, also opening things up for teammates such as Marshall. The Bulldogs (17-3, 4-1 Atlantic 10) have won 14 of their last 15 with the only blemish since Nov. 21 coming Wednesday at La Salle.
Temple (13-6, 2-3) was led by Khalif Wyatt, who scored 16 of his 22 points in the first half. Scootie Randall had 13.
Butler used a 12-0 first-half run to take control, opened the second half on a 7-0 run to make it 44-34 and finally pulled away with a late 8-0 spurt.
