INDIANAPOLIS -

The Indianapolis Museum of Art announced an Henri Matisse exhibition planned for the fall of 2013 to coincide with the museum's 130th anniversary.

The IMA will exhibit 80 works of art by Matisse (1869–1954), mostly from the Cone Collection - one of the most renowned collections of Matisse's art in the world. The exhibition will include paintings, sculptures, prints, and drawings.

The museum is also planning programs and activities in connection with the Matisse exhibition - including how Etta and Claribel Cone, two sisters from Baltimore, built their collection.

Jay Fisher, The Baltimore Museum of Art chief curator, will visit Indianapolis to talk about the collection.

There will also be a series of musical performances in the galleries inspired by Matisse's Jazz portfolio.

On the weekends, kids will get a chance to make their own art and display it in the "Inspired by Matisse" program.
