Tipped semi reroutes southbound traffic in split

Posted: Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

Southbound traffic from westbound Interstate 70 was re-routed through the north split this morning while the wreckage of an overturned semi-trailer was removed.

The semi tipped late Tuesday night near the 88 mile marker of I-70, just as the road curved from westbound to southbound.

Emergency crews diverted westbound traffic through the Michigan/Ohio/Fletcher ramps to avoid a backup.

The driver was not seriously injured.

All lanes reopened at approximately 4:45 a.m. Wednesday.
