Police in Nashville have issued a missing persons report for a 74-year-old Nashville man.

Thomas Merritt reportedly left his home Tuesday (Jan. 15) around 8 p.m, wearing a t-shirt, Carhartt overalls and hiking boots. His wife reported him missing 24 hours later.

Search and rescue teams, using five K-9 units have searched several square acres of both properties the Merritts own in Brown County.

Police say Merritt left the house without his wallet, hearing aid, glasses and daily medication. They also say he has left in the past and has been gone for several days, "even being found out of state," but he has always taken a vehicle and his personal belongings.

Merritt has gray hair and blue eyes. He is six-feet tall and weighs about 120 pounds.

Anyone with information about Merritt or his whereabouts is asked to contact Nashville police at 812-988-0341.
