MEROM -

Reward money has grown to $35,000 for leads in solving the slaying of an 85-year-old retired farmer in rural western Indiana.

Four billboards in Indiana and Illinois and a new Indiana State Police web page also are soliciting tips about the shooting death of Lowell Badger of rural Merom.

Police say Badger's son found him shot to death Dec. 8 in the man's home about 30 miles south of Terre Haute. Electronics and items were missing from the home.

Police say the reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction has grown to $35,000 and privately funded billboards have gone up in Sullivan County, Terre Haute and along nearby Illinois Route 1.

Police say information at about the case is online at http://www.in.gov/isp/2906.htm.
