INDIANAPOLIS -
The Indiana attorney general's office has filed a 66-count complaint against the Massachusetts pharmacy linked to an outbreak of fungal meningitis that has killed seven people in Indiana and sickened more than 60 others.
The complaint filed Wednesday against New England Compounding Center alleges 66 Indiana patients were harmed by Dec. 12 by the pharmacy's steroids used to treat back pain.
The complaint asks the Indiana Board of Pharmacy to impose unspecified disciplinary sanctions and to pay prosecution costs. The board voted in November to suspend NECC's Indiana license.
Attorney General Greg Zoeller said the board will consider the complaint Feb. 11.
The tainted steroids were distributed to six Indiana clinics before NECC recalled them.
NECC spokesman Andy Paven says the company's lawyers are reviewing the complaint.
