It's a different world out there says season-four "American Idol" finalist Constantine Maroulis.
The focus is more on the judges than the contestants, he says, and that might be hurting the show. Maroulis also says recent winners face a changed music business.
According to him "music is pretty much dead" and "the only thing that seems to catch people's attention" is what he calls the "most sugary, sugary pop pop." But, Maroulis says he still tunes in and "roots for the kids."
