WHITE COUNTY -

A Monticello man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in White County Friday afternoon.

The crash happened on US 24 east of CR 300 East. Police say their preliminary investigation shows a white pick-up truck driven by Barry Kindle, 52, of Monticello, was traveling east on US 24 when it crossed the center line.

The pick-up truck struck a westbound semi driven by 57-year-old Charles Dial Jr. of Newkirk, Oklahoma, head on.

Kindle was killed in the crash. Dial was taken to IU Health White Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

Toxicology results are pending and the accident remains under investigation. US 24 was closed for approximately five hours while police investigated and cleared the accident.
