MARION -
Marion police apprehended 27 year-old Zachary Thien in Westchester, Ohio early Saturday morning for the murder of a woman Friday in Marion.
An arrest warrant was issued Friday evening for Thien for the Murder of Megan Chipman. He was taken into custody in a Walmart parking lot.
A woman died after being found shot in a roadway in Marion.
Marion police officers were sent to the 500 block of East 4th Street early Friday morning, near the Hotel Marion. Officers found the woman lying in the westbound lane of SR 18, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. She was taken to Marion General Hospital, where she died from her injury.
WISE-TV in Fort Wayne identified the woman as Megan Elaine Chipman, 23, of Montpelier, according to the Grant County coroner's office.
Police did not have any information about a possible suspect. Investigators told the television station they believe Chipman was riding in a vehicle with the suspect before she was shot in the street.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Marion Police Department at (765) 662-9981.
