INDIANAPOLIS -

A 26-year-old man was arrested after an hours-long standoff in a home on the near east side.

Marion County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Theodore Lamb at 4:50 pm after a standoff at 1223 Newman Street.

Lamb fled to the home from the 2400 block of East Washington Street. Deputies called in the Sheriff's Tactical Advance Response (STAR) Team, who used tear gas to bring the standoff to an end.

Deputies were attempting to serve Lamb warrants for failing to register as a sex offender and receiving stolen property. Lamb has previous convictions for battery, sexual battery, criminal recklessness and strangulation.

Marion County Sheriff's Deputies will be meeting with Marion County Deputy Prosecutors to pursue additional charges for robbery, auto theft and felony flight.
