A hunter with a shotgun prompted a school lockdown in Fishers on Friday.
Fishers Police investigated the incident and determined that the hunter was in the area of Heritage Park walking with a shotgun. They informed Riverside Intermediate School, which is near the park. The school kept its exterior doors locked and students were not allowed outside during the investigation.
The school says there were no interruptions to the school day and the information was not shared with the students.
The principal of the school sent a notification to parents informing them of what happened, saying, "We are very thankful for the FPD and their coordinated efforts to keep all of us safe."
