Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK -

Singer Adam Gontier of Three Days Grace has abruptly left the band because of a health issue.

Bassist Brad Walst says they were "surprised and distressed" by his sudden departure. Walst's brother Matt will step in as lead singer.

They've posted rehearsals with Matt Walst on www.ThreeDaysGrace.com for fans who want to check him out.

Three Days Grace begin a co-headlining tour with Shinedown and special guest P.O.D. on February 1 in Moline, Illinois.
