Chase from Lawrence ends in crash on Ritter

Posted: Updated:

Lawrence Police say a car they were pursuing crashed at 30th and Ritter early Thursday morning.  Three people were taken to the hospital, including the driver of the car that fled police.

Police say they stopped a white Cadillac near 42nd and Shadeland because it was missing a headlight.  The car left the scene and led police westbound, eventually crashing into a red car at 30th and Ritter shortly before 1:00 a.m.

The driver of the Cadillac and two people from the red car were taken to area hospitals with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Police found a gun and cocaine in the Cadillac.

Police also detained two passengers from the Cadillac.

Check back for updates.
