SOUTH BEND -

The Notre Dame basketball team is going to auction off game-worn jerseys, tickets to upcoming games and other items to help raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in New Jersey.

The school says the online auction will be held through Jan. 17. Among the items being auctioned are black uniforms worn by Irish starters during Notre Dame's 64-50 win over Kentucky on Nov. 29; the game ball from the win over Kentucky; four courtside seats to the game against Georgetown on Jan. 21; and part of the net and rim used during the second half of Notre Dame's upset of top-ranked Syracuse last year.

Proceeds will be presented to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Christie is a longtime friend of Irish coach Mike Brey.
