INDIANAPOLIS -
A man who went outside a southside restaurant to smoke was shot in a robbery attempt early Wednesday morning, according to police.
Officers at the scene told Eyewitness News the man was eating at the Steak & Shake on Stop 11 and U.S. 31 around 3:30 a.m. when he went outside to smoke.
The man said three people approached and tried to rob him. When tried to go back inside, they shot him in the hand.
The victim left in an ambulance. His wound to the hand is not believed to be life-threatening.
