Pizza delivery driver shot on east side

Posted: Updated:

A pizza delivery driver was shot while working on the city's east side early Tuesday morning.  Police say it happened around 1:30 a.m. near East Washington and Rural.

The driver told police he was making a delivery for Polly's Big Slice when three men grabbed the driver in the 400 block of Forest.

The three men had a gun, but so did the driver.  Police believe a gun went off, hitting the driver in the left hand.

When that happened, the three alleged attackers ran away.

The delivery driver drove back to the pizza shop, where they called for an ambulance.

Police are still searching for the three suspects.
