Anthrax guitarist Rob Caggiano leaves

Posted: Updated:
RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY -

Guitarist Rob Caggiano is leaving Anthrax to focus on his work as a music producer.

Caggiano has played with Anthrax for 12 years and produced their last album, "Worship Music."

Caggiano says he shared some of the best times of his life with the band, but his heart is steering him in another direction. The rest of the band say they are sad Caggiano is leaving but they wish him nothing but great success.

They plan to make an announcement shortly about Caggiano's replacement.
