Four injured in fire on near south side

INDIANAPOLIS -

Four people suffered minor injuries in a fire on the south side of Indianapolis.

Crews were dispatched to the 2600 block of Brill Road on the report of a building fire around 9 p.m. Friday. Flames were reported showing from Clancy's Banquet Hall when firefighters arrived.

Two women jumped from an apartment window on the second floor of the building to escape heavy smoke. They suffered slight injuries. Two others, a man and a woman, were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are still trying to determine a cause of the fire. Damage from the fire is estimated at $75,000.
