Indianapolis man, 25, killed in southeast side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS -

Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating the city's first two homicides of the new year.

One happened Tuesday night on Draper Street near East Troy Avenue on the city's southeast side.

Police found two men shot at that location, and 25-year-old Joshua Jefferson died at the scene. The other man was taken to Methodist Hospital.

A third man showed up at the emergency room with a gunshot wound, and may be connected to the shooting.

In the city's first homicide of the year, a man was found dead in his home on W. 9th St. early Tuesday. Police are trying to find the victim's family members to notify them of his death.
