Metro police say one person is dead and two others are wounded, and they believe all three victims may be connected to an incident in the 2900 block of Draper St.

An IMPD spokesperson says officers were called to the neighborhood at about 8:00 Tuesday evening and found two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police say he is a black male, but he has not been identified further. The Marion County coroner's office is working to identify him and notify relatives.

The other victim was taken by ambulance to Methodist Hospital with what police called a non-life-threatening wound.

Police say a third wounded man who may be connected to the Draper St. incident is being interviewed by detectives in the emergency room at Methodist. His injuries are also called non-life-threatening.  Police say he drove to the hospital on his own.

This could turn out to be the city's second homicide of the new year, following a shooting on the west side early Tuesday morning.

Police say anyone with information is urged to contact Homicide detectives at 317.327.3475. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 317.262.TIPS (8477). Callers can also text "INDYCS" plus tip information to 274627(CRIMES).
