INDIANAPOLIS -

The Indianapolis Department of Public Works says their crews are preparing to fight Wednesday's predicted high winds and blizzard-like conditions.

DPW's Indy Snow Force has scheduled a full call-out of 118 drivers to report to work at 11 p.m. Tuesday night. Drivers will pre-treat bridges and roads and will 12-hour shifts.

In addition, 50 contractors and 350 plowing units are on standby to deal with snow in residential neighborhoods.

DPW recommends that the public stay off the roads due to the expected dangerous conditions.

Citizens with disabilities or those who may need medical or health-related assistance, such as transportation or medication pick-up, should contact Connect 2 Help at 211, or 926-HELP (926-4357).

Residents may also visit www.Connect2Help.org for more information.
