Maine beats Fort Wayne 109-99 in D-League game

PORTLAND, Maine -

The Maine Red Claws (7-3) remain perfect against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (3-9) after winning their fourth NBA Development League matchup of the season.

The Red Claws won 109-99 at the Portland Expo on Friday night despite a weak start that had them trailing 30-20 at the end of the first quarter. Maine clawed its way back and was ahead 51-50 at the half.

It was 82-69 with Maine on top after three frames. The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth battle, but the Red Claws were able to maintain their double-digit lead, closing out the 109-99 victory.

The Claws have averaged 113 points per game against the Mad Ants, who remain winless on the road.
