Special antlerless deer season starts next week

Posted: Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

Indiana hunters will be able to take advantage of an extra deer hunting season this year.

The 12-day antlerless deer season begins Wednesday in counties with high densities of deer. That includes most of the state's 92 counties.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says deer killed during the special season count toward each county's bonus antlerless quota bag limit.

To participate, hunters must have the proper licenses. Counties excluded from the special season are Adams, Benton, Blackford, Carroll, Clinton, Daviess, Decatur, Hancock, Jay, Martin, Perry, Pike, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Tipton, Union and Wells.
