Indy woman gets 30 years in death of stepson

INDIANAPOLIS -

An Indianapolis woman has been sentenced to 30 years in prison in connection with the death of her 2-year-old stepson.

30-year-old Autumn Dunn received that sentence Wednesday as part of an agreement with prosecutors, in which she pleaded guilty to neglect in the death of Skyler Dunn back in May. She originally faced a murder charge.

Dunn admitted dropping the boy on a concrete floor twice, first in an accident and secondly in frustration with the boy's crying and squirming in her arms.

The boy was injured during a visit with Dunn and his father. His mother, Jean Seal, says she agreed to the sentence because Dunn might have been acquitted or given a lesser sentence if the case went to trial.
