INDIANAPOLIS -

The Lilly Endowment has two new vice presidents overseeing its grants in community development and religion.

The Indianapolis-based endowment said Tuesday that its board of directors had elected Wallace "Ace" Yakey Junior vice president for community development. The Indianapolis native has served as a program director in the Endowment's community development division and is a former president of the Indianapolis Economic Development Corp.

The Board also elected Christopher Coble vice president for religion. He's an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) who's also currently a program director at the endowment.

The endowment is one of the country's largest private foundations, with assets of $6.2 billion at the end of 2011. Last year, it awarded more than $200 million in grants in education, religion and community development.
