Following the death of Brazilian architectural ‘legend’ Oscar Niemeyer, Brazilian Company Housetech Developments says tributes have been flooding in honouring a man who inspired much of the infrastructure in Brazil’s major cities, including the capital, Brasilia.
(PRWEB) December 11, 2012
Commenting on Oscar Niemeyer’s passing, Housetech CEO, Waseem Saddique said: “The man was an architectural artist who delivered ground-breaking results in construction.”
Housetech Developments would like to express its sorrow at the passing of a man who was inspirational in shaping the architectural outlook of Brazil as it stands today. Oscar Niemeyer could turn his hand to anything whether it was commercial property, housing or monumental architecture; the man was an innovator and had incredible vision.
Niemeyer was nationally and internationally renowned and respected across a number of networks, including, the Brazilian Real Estate Market, investment circles and the business world, for his dynamic and ‘outside the box’ concepts when it came to construction.
“Oscar Niemeyer was not afraid to push the boundaries of construction”, said Waseem Saddique. “I remember reading a truly outstanding quote in his memoirs of 1998 titled ‘The Curves of Time’ if memory serves me correctly.”
The quote Waseem Saddique was referring to said: ‘Right angles don't attract me. Nor straight, hard and inflexible lines created by man. What attracts me are free and sensual curves. The curves we find in mountains, in the waves of the sea, in the body of the woman we love.’
Niemeyer was influential in the construction of many of Brasilia’s most important buildings including the Cabinet Ministries and the monumental dome of the National Museum. Outside of Brazil, he played a major role in the construction of the United Nations headquarters.
Oscar Niemeyer’s final resting place will be in Rio, but at present he is at rest in the presidential palace at the request of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.
“Given our business type, as a real estate development company serving the Brazilian residential and commercial property markets, Housetech Developments felt it necessary to pay tribute to a man who added so much to construction as a whole”, said Waseem Saddique.
Housetech Developments is dedicated to the meticulous creation of comfortable living spaces, inspirational leisure and work environments with an ambitious vision of developing one of the most trusted brand names in the Brazilian Real Estate Market and beyond.
Housetech's commitment to pursuing perfection and its relentless search for innovation, distinguishes it as one of the pioneers in the fast-expanding regional market.
