IMPD homicide investigates body found in burning truck

INDIANAPOLIS -

An autopsy Tuesday shows a man found burned inside a truck was shot to death.

Metro homicide detectives were called to the scene of a death investigation in the 3700 block of N. Lasalle St.  Shortly before 11:00 p.m., emergency crews were called to extinguish a vehicle fire.  They discovered a body inside the burned pickup truck.

Tuesday, police identified the victim as 23-year-old James Shaw of Indianapolis. The Marion County Coroner says Shaw died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers called for homicide detectives, who took over the investigation.
