An autopsy Tuesday shows a man found burned inside a truck was shot to death.
Metro homicide detectives were called to the scene of a death investigation in the 3700 block of N. Lasalle St. Shortly before 11:00 p.m., emergency crews were called to extinguish a vehicle fire. They discovered a body inside the burned pickup truck.
Tuesday, police identified the victim as 23-year-old James Shaw of Indianapolis. The Marion County Coroner says Shaw died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers called for homicide detectives, who took over the investigation.
IMPD requests anyone with information about the fire to please call 327-3811 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477), or text "INDYCS" plus tip information to 274627(CRIMES) and remain anonymous.
