Marion County woman killed in I-65 crash

A serious car accident has closed the northbound lanes of I-65 near State Road 267 in Boone County.

The Boone County Fatal Crash Team and Whitestown Police are on the scene and have confirmed the accident is a fatality.

Police say 28-year-old Keitra Annette Smith, a resident of Marion County, was driving north on the interstate when she made a sudden lane change, lost control and struck a guardrail.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were a total of six vehicles involved in the crash. Two other people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Police reopened all lanes of the interstate shortly before 11:30 am.
