FedEx braces for busiest day

CASTLETON -

You'll be seeing more and more FedEx trucks on the road starting today. The company says it expects today to be the busiest day in its history, with more than 19-million packages being shipped today.

For the overall holiday season between Thanksgiving and Christmas, FedEx forecasts more than 280-million shipments to move through its worldwide shipping networks. This would be a 13-percent increase over last year.

FedEx monitors online orders to predict when traffic peaks, according to Jennifer Sluk, who manages their Castleton operation center.

While this may be the busiest shipping day of the year, you still have plenty of time to make sure your packages arrive in time for Christmas.
