Notorious B.I.G: autopsy report released, family upset

Posted: Updated:
LOS ANGELES -

It's been sealed for years. But the autopsy report on Notorious B.I.G. doesn't tell us much more than we already know about the rapper who was gunned down in a Los Angeles drive by shooting in 1997.

The report says while Biggie was hit four times - the injuries caused by a single bullet were what killed the rapper. The autopsy says one of the four shots that hit the rapper struck his heart, left lung and colon.

An attorney for the family of Notorious B.I.G. says it's ridiculous that Los Angeles police haven't arrested anyone for the rapper's murder.

Perry Sanders Junior says he has been told that police had identified those they believe responsible and that they consider the case "solved."

A LAPD spokesman says the killing remains an open investigation. Police have also apologized for releasing the autopsy report before alerting the family, calling that "an administrative error."
