Wayne Township fire vehicle vandalized with axe

Posted: Updated:
WAYNE TOWNSHIP -

A Wayne Township emergency officer came home from work late Friday afternoon only to have an individual vandalize his staff car while he was in his home.

EMS Operations Officer Shane Hardwick heard a commotion outside his residence around 5pm. When he came outside he found a white male striking his staff car with an axe.

The axe became stuck in the door and the subject fled in his pickup truck. Hardwick states he had never seen the man before and that it was the most bazaar thing he'd ever seen.

The man is described as a white male, close to 6 feet tall with a "scruffy" beard.  He was driving a truck with "think" written on the tail gate in spray paint.
