WASHINGTON -

The Fray had to learn a Christmas song in a very non-Christmasy environment.

Singer Isaac Slade says they were asked to perform Bruce Springsteen's version of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" for last night's National Christmas Tree lighting in Washington.

Slade says they learned the song in Beijing and practiced it on an aircraft carrier because their next gig was for the USO.

Last night's tree lighting also included Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz, Phillip Phillips, Babyface, Ledisi and James Taylor.
