Alicia Keys had to postpone her annual Black Ball because of Hurricane Sandy.
But she says she was inspired to make sure the event happened this year. Why? She notes that in parts of the world her charity serves, "they have a Hurricane Sandy every day.
They don't have electricity, they don't have heat." Last night's Black Ball at the Apollo Theater in New York raised more than $1.3 million for her Keep a Child Alive charity.
Keys teamed up with Bonnie Raitt to perform "I Can't Make You Love Me." Keys said it was "one of my dreams to sing" with Raitt.
Jennifer Hudson and Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes also performed.
