Earlier this year, Frank Ocean made a bold statement by acknowledging in the liner notes of his new album that he had sex with a guy.
The news barely caused a ripple - and more than a few artists expressed their support for his coming out. Now, the Grammys are giving the stamp of approval to his music.
Ocean is one of six artists with a leading 6 nominations. And his album, "channel ORANGE" is up for album of the year. Of his six nods, three are in major categories.
Along with album of the year, Ocean is up for best new artist and record of the year.
