Police are investigating an incident where a child was left alone in a motel room.
Speedway police officers were called to the Motel 6 in the 6300 block of Debonair Lane around 5 p.m. Tuesday on report that a 14-month-old child was found unattended in a room. A guest of the motel discovered the child and stayed with them until authorities arrived.
Police believe the child may have been left alone for "up to an hour," but possibly less than that. Officers are still investigating to determine how long the child was alone and other aspects of the case.
Medical personnel checked the child and found no injuries. Child Protective Services is taking care of the child.
Officers found the mother of the child, but are still gathering information and have not made an arrest in the case.
