St. John, Ind. -

The father of a northwestern Indiana teenager found dead last summer outside the high school he attended wants local police and a coroner held in contempt for not releasing more information on how his son died.

Seventeen-year-old Levi Evans was found dead Aug. 8 near an electric substation on the grounds of Lake Central High School, where he was a student.

Lake County Coroner Merrilee Frey initially told St. John police and Levi's parents he died from a heart disorder, but she reopened the case last month based on new information.

The Times of Munster reports a petition filed Wednesday by the teen's father seeks a contempt order and accuses St. John police and the coroner's office of an "unfounded delay" in releasing information in the case.
