INDIANAPOLIS -
Police say a person has died in a shooting on the south side of Indianapolis.
The shooting happened around 9 p.m. Thursday in an apartment complex near Carson Avenue and Rural Street, which is northwest of I-465 and I-65. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A caller told a 911 dispatcher his roommate had been shot. The victim has been preliminarily identified as a 34-year-old Gary man. Detectives are still attempting to notify the victim's family.
Witnesses told police they saw two people running from the scene, but only described them as "two black males." The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
