Store takes over north eastern Indiana town's postal service

CORUNNA -

The U.S. Postal Service is set to open another village post office in a retail outlet.

The USPS Greater Indiana District says a northeastern Indiana convenience store, Albright's One-Stop in Corunna, was set to become the 15th Village Post Office in Indiana on Tuesday and the 83rd in the nation.

Last year, the Postal Service introduced the village post office model as an alternate retail location for postal products and services, especially in rural communities. Since then, its Greater Indiana District has opened more village post offices in rural communities that any other postal district in the country. Six more are slated to open in December.

Corunna is 25 miles north of Fort Wayne.
