Bjork has surgery on vocal cord polyp

Posted: Updated:
LONDON -

Bjork tried exercise and diets to fix the problem. But in the end, it was surgery that got rid of the polyp on her vocal cord.

She is now singing the praises of the laser surgery she had had to clear up a problem that has plagued her for several years. On her official Web site, Bjork writes: "Surgery rocks!" and that it's "very satisfying to sing all them clear notes again."

The singer from Iceland had to cancel shows earlier this year - and says she hopes to return to performing next year.

Last year Adele had minor surgery to remove a benign polyp.
