Chatard beats Hamilton Heights to claim 3A title

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Pete Hartley ran for 172 yards and a score as Indianapolis Bishop Chatard beat Hamilton Heights Huskies 30-13 to claim the Class 3A Indiana state football title.

Sam Neighbors threw for 159 yards and a touchdown Saturday for the Trojans, who won their third consecutive championship.

Corey Beck threw for 197 yards on 19 of 43 passing for the Huskies, who fell in their first state finals.

The Trojans scored right from the start on a Chase Sadler 27-yard field goal on the opening drive and Hartley ran 45 yards to score on their second drive to go up 10-0.

Chatard led 16-0 at halftime and Hamilton Heights got their first score on a 33-yard touchdown reception by Landon Cunningham early in the third quarter.
