CARMEL -

Carmel police pulled a car from a pond near Main St. and Towne Road Saturday morning. When officers arrived on the scene they found a gray vehicle submerged.

The Carmel Fire Department entered the water and did not find anyone inside of the vehicle. The vehicle was pulled from the pond and confirmed empty by the Fishers Fire Department and their Dive Team.

Carmel Police released a statement that said it appeared the vehicle lost control west of the roundabout where it drove over the curb and through the center area of the roundabout. After passing through the traffic circle, the vehicle continued east and went into the pond.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Andrew D. Song, 19, and was located at a residence in Carmel a few hours later. He was transported to Riverview Hospital to be checked out, and from there he was taken to the Hamilton County Jail. Song is being held on a $2,500 bond for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

A passenger was also located and identified as Samuel P. Victor, 19. Victor was found with a minor scrape on his left palm.
