INDIANAPOLIS -
Indianapolis Metro Police are taking over security in a blast-ravaged neighborhood where a deadly house explosion is being investigated as a criminal homicide.
The Indianapolis Homeland Security division's response team had been handling security in the Richmond Hill subdivision since the explosion killed a young couple, but it's begun turning over those duties to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Homes in the Richmond Hill subdivision that were damaged in the Nov. 10th explosion have been secured and boarded as required, the Indianapolis Metro Police Department said Friday.
The investigation site remains under tight security with around-the-clock police patrols to prevent looting.
IMPD is no longer maintaining a traffic post at the entrance of the subdivision, but residents will still see a strong security presence.
