INDIANAPOLIS -

Federal and local investigators are offering a reward for information following the theft of 45 firearms from an Indianapolis gun shop.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Indianapolis police said Wednesday there's a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspects in the theft of firearms from Pops Guns on the city's far east side.

The ATF and police say the theft occurred Sunday.

Authorities say stolen guns are often used in drug- and gang-related crimes.

Anyone with information can call the ATF crime gun hotline at 1-800-283-4867 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS.

Callers to either hotline can remain anonymous.
