Destiny Bay Cabernet blends earn coveted spot on celebrated wine list at the Simon Radley restaurant of Chester Gosvenor hotel, a 147 year old cultural and architectural landmark
Waiheke Island, New Zealand (PRWEB) November 20, 2012
Destiny Bay Vineyards announced today that Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, the acclaimed food and wine destination in the historic town of Chester, England, has selected Destiny Bay’s Bordeaux-style, Cabernet blended wines for its exclusive wine cellar. The Simon Radley restaurant in the Chester Grosvenor hotel, a 147 year old cultural and architectural landmark, has retained its Michelin star since 1990 and is one of only 26 restaurants in the UK to be awarded four AA Rosettes.
Garry Clark, Head Sommelier of Simon Radley, said they had been looking to revamp their New Zealand selection and were impressed with the quality and presentation of the boutique New Zealand wines. He noted that “Waiheke Island has been raved about in the UK …for the outstanding quality of the wines and the rich depth of winemaking." He adds that “the wines of Destiny Bay bring that to life. They’re not cheap, but the quality shines out.”
Katie and David Paddle of the Black Dog wine agency representing Destiny Bay Vineyards expressed their delight that “this iconic, Michelin-starred establishment was so receptive to listing Destiny Bay wines on their highly selective list.”
Brett Taylor, Destiny Bay’s Global Director of Sales and Distribution noted that “we have many prestigious restaurant listings around the world. However, Simon Radley's restaurant at The Chester Grosvenor is our first Michelin listing. It’s an honor to have our wines enjoyed alongside Simon's Michelin star cuisine."
