Southeastern Indiana county's auditor says she'll stay on

BROOKVILLE -

The auditor of a southeastern Indiana county says she has been absent from her job because of health issues and has no plans to resign despite calls for her to do so.

Franklin County Auditor Erica Hudson tells the Connersville News-Examiner she's heard of calls for her resignation through the news media but has not received any communication from the county's commissioners.

The commissioners and the county's Republican chairman have called on Hudson to quit since September over a prolonged absence that resulted in a $4,000 fine from the Internal Revenue Service.

Hudson returned to work in her office this month. She says her physician had given her a letter for a medical leave of absence.
