Twelve arrested in north side Indianapolis sting

INDIANAPOLIS -

Twelve people were arrested Thursday in a police takedown on the Indianapolis north side. Police seized weapons, cash, vehicles and electronics.

Friday's arrests come after an investigation that began in May 2012. An ATF agent tipped off the IMPD North District Narcotics unit about drugs and firearms being sold by people at Jonathan's Barbershop at 3939 N. Keystone and the ReFurbAtronics store at 3937 N. Keystone. Detectives also investigated businesses at 6753 and 6755 E. 38th Street.

Detectives learned of illegal activities like pirated DVDs, bootleg purses and EBT cards being traded for services.

Detectives called in the Indianapolis Metro Police SWAT Team to apprehend one of the targets who also faced federal firearms charges as a result of the investigation.

The Indianapolis Metro Police CAT Team and Department of Agriculture were brought into the investigation.

In all, four search warrants were served, 12 vehicles were seized, along with laptop computers, marijuana, pirated DVDs, recovered stolen hats, 68 flat screen televisions, 4 handguns, 1 shotgun, and $6,700.

Jonathan Barker, Angela Barker, Jamarson Fitzgerald, Dashaun Bush, Dietrich Rhodes,Jomo Cole, Gordon Parker, Andrew Jefferson, Carlos Pope, and Charles Henderson all of Indianapolis are facing charges that include:

Conspiracy to Commit Dealing in a Narcotic Drug

Conspiracy to Commit Welfare Fraud

Conspiracy to Commit Fraud

Corrupt Business Influence

Gordon Parker and Carlos Pope have not been arrested but are wanted by police at this time.

Four others were arrested during the takedown for various charges including possession of marijuana.
