Coach Brian Kelly says No. 3 Notre Dame's season won't mean any less if the Fighting Irish go undefeated and don't win a national championship.
Kelly said in an interview Wednesday with The Associated Press that he would tell his players that they did everything they could and they are champions because of it. He says it would still be a magical season.
The Irish are 10-0 for the first time since 1993 with games remaining against Wake Forest and at Southern California.
Kelly says he believes Kansas State and Oregon are higher in the BCS standings because they started the season ranked higher and have stayed there.
